Mable Longmire-Harvest, a dedicated and compassionate individual, passed away on April 13th, 2026, after a week-long hospitalization. Surrounded by family, Mable's passing at 7:33 pm leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew her.
Known for her loving spirit and commitment to helping others, Mable worked with organizations like VOA Montgomery and Americare, making a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. She had earned a Bachelor's degree from Alabama State and a Master's from Auburn University Montgomery in Criminal Justice, yet chose to dedicate her life to helping others in a personal and impactful way.
Mable was especially close to a young boy whom she considered her son. Even though she was unable to have children of her own, she cared for him deeply, always referring to him as "my son." Family members recall the love and warmth she gave freely, with Mable consistently putting others before herself.
Her sister, Shontaea Davis, shared the heartbreaking news on social media, recounting the last time she spoke to Mable on Easter morning. Despite her declining health, Mable continued to show strength and resilience. The family now faces the challenge of covering her funeral expenses after an insurance cancellation, prompting the launch of a GoFundMe campaign.
